What experience do I need?

Our current staff members have all achieved NVQ 2 or are working towards adding the new Diploma 2 to their extensive qualifications, and we expect the same level of training from new team members. We look for people who have a real passion for the work they do, going the extra mile wherever possible to make a difference to each person they work with.

  • Safeguarding adults (SOVA)
  • Moving and handling
  • Dementia awareness
  • Nutrition and hydration
  • Health and safety
  • Infection control
  • First aid

What tasks will I carry out?

You will be expected to adopt a practical and dedicated attitude with friendly, supportive and approachable qualities in every element of your role. A typical day might include:

  • Assistance with personal hygiene tasks
  • Assistance with medication management
  • Preparation and cooking of meals
  • Cleaning, laundry, ironing and shopping
  • Support to use local facilities (e.g. shops, banks, post offices and public transport)
  • Support to pursue social, educational or work-related activities
  • Group activities and outings
  • Palliative care
  • Light gardening services
